Talk Boost KS1 - Staff Training
Lucky enough to have the staff available to offer this intervention consistently three times a week for 10 weeks? Then let us train your staff to deliver the programme and have access to the resources and tracker at your fingertips.
Who can train?
Training must be completed as a pair, ideally the class teacher and a TA. Typically, the TA would deliver the intervention but the teacher would be responsible for incorporating extension activities into whole class sessions throughout the programme.
How long is the training?
Training is delivered within your school over a period of 5 hours. This can be staggered as a series of twilight sessions or as a whole day.
What does it target?
Talk Boost breaks language and communication down into five component parts, with a focus on a specific area each week :
Attention and listening
Schools are able to access the online Tracker to measure outcomes of the intervention and to download and print off reports for Senior Leadership Teams, Ofsted and Governors.
What does the training package include?
Once you have booked onto the training course, you will receive the following materials:
An Intervention Manual containing detailed group session plans and resources required
A Teacher Manual that guides teachers in selecting the right children, tracking their progress and managing the overall operation of the groups
12 Children’s Activity books to reinforce what has been taught in the group sessions
Access to our Classroom Checklist, Online Tracker Tool and Child Attitude Survey to measure and analyse progress which supports Pupil Premium
Access to the Communication Cookbook which contains fun activities to support children's language and communication
An option to purchase the Talk Boost KS1 Toolkit which contains a set of musical instruments, toys, and activitymaterials designed to make your Talk Boost KS1 sessions even more convenient
How much does it cost?
The cost of the Talk Boost KS1 intervention package is £600 per training pair. This includes training and all of the resources listed opposite.
